Inspiration

An exciting new technique was introduced at the Kips Bay Decorator Show House and is creating a buzz among designers. Artist Nina Helms brings her creative aesthetic in the form of a very intriguing bas-relief sculpture that is applied to walls and many other surfaces.

During a trip to Paris the artist was inspired by the beauty of the extraordinary plaster reliefs in fine chateaus and brought this inspiration back to her studio.

Nina's contemporary spin on renaissance beauty gave birth to her Sculpt du Fleur™ technique: Custom dimensional wall art. Traditional floral elements and contemporary motifs, often taken from fabrics, are sculpted and applied to grace flat and curved walls, stairwells, ceilings and doors of a room.

A Sculpt du Fleur™ piece can be created in a range of effects to look like handcarved plaster, metal or even translucent colorful glass. It offers complete versatility and is able to be reproduced in multiples.
